Most Amazon problems don't hit all at once. They creep in: a lost Buy Box on Tuesday, a SKU going out of stock on Thursday, a keyword burning budget all week without a sale. You notice at month-end, when the damage is done. The difference between sellers who chase problems and sellers who get ahead of them isn't talent. It's a weekly Amazon seller checklist, run on the same day, in the same order, every week. Here's ours, in seven steps, and how to get through it in minutes.
Why without a routine you only work on emergencies
Seller Central has plenty of data, but it's scattered: sales in one report, inventory in another, Buy Box somewhere else, ads in a separate console, account health on its own page. If you have to decide what to look at every time, you end up looking only at what's loud: the angry customer, the red notification, the obvious drop.
A routine fixes three things:
- Consistent comparison. You always look at the same numbers against last week, so anomalies jump out.
- No blind spots. Stock, Buy Box and ads get checked even when "everything looks fine".
- Faster decisions. You already know what to do for each type of problem, because you've seen it before.
Monday works because you have a full week to compare and a full week ahead to act.
The weekly Amazon seller checklist in 7 steps
1. Sales: last 7 days vs the previous 7
Revenue, units and percentage change. Don't stop at the total: look at which SKUs drove the change. A "flat" week can hide one product growing and another collapsing.
2. Buy Boxes won and lost
Which ASINs you lost, and what the Buy Box price is. A lost Buy Box on a product that sells is the first thing to understand, before you even look at ads.
3. Stock and FBA coverage
Two questions: which products went out of stock while they were selling, and which ones will run out before the next shipment lands. The second one is where you save money.
4. Listings with issues
Suppressed or inactive listings, or listings with issues flagged by Amazon. Review them sorted by revenue so you fix the ones costing you sales first.
5. Amazon Ads: spend, ACoS and waste
Spend and ACoS versus last week, and above all the keywords that spent without selling. This is usually where you recover budget without losing sales.
6. Account health
A quick look at your seller account health indicators and any open notifications. You're not optimizing here; you're closing issues before they become serious.
7. Top 2 growing and top 2 declining SKUs
End with what's moving most. Growing SKUs need attention on stock and ad budget; declining ones deserve the diagnosis from step 1.
Run it in 5 minutes instead of an hour
Done by hand, this checklist means opening five or six sections of Seller Central plus the Ads console, exporting and comparing. With your seller account connected to ChatGPT or Claude through an MCP connector, three questions cover it. Copy them as they are:
You spend the rest of the morning deciding, not digging. The full step-by-step recipe is in the wiki guide Run the Monday routine.
Even better: a recap that arrives on its own
We turned this checklist into an email. Vendooly's Monday recap goes out every Monday to users whose seller account is connected and who had sales in the last 14 days, in 5 languages. It includes:
- last 7 days vs the previous 7 (revenue, units, %);
- Buy Boxes won and lost;
- products that went out of stock while selling;
- keywords that spent without selling over the last 14 days (if Amazon Ads is connected);
- top 2 growing and top 2 declining SKUs;
- ad spend and ACoS vs the previous week;
- how many times you used your AI during the week;
- and a "what to ask your AI this week" section, with prompts picked from your own data.
There's no score or grade for your seller account. You get the week's strengths and issues, and the right question to dig into them. How to read it is covered in Weekly recap.
From checklist to action
A routine only pays off if it ends in actions. For each check, the typical one:
- Lost Buy Box → weigh the price against your margin, then prepare the adjustment.
- Low stock → plan replenishment and ease off ad spend on products about to run out.
- Flagged listing → fix the attribute or content Amazon flagged.
- Wasteful keywords → lower the bid or add a negative keyword.
With Vendooly each of these is prepared in the chat: the AI shows a before → after preview and writes to Amazon only after your explicit confirmation. No autopilot. You decide; the AI does the manual work.
Start next Monday
Try the checklist for four Mondays in a row, even by hand. By week four you'll have a much sharper view of where you lose sales and budget.
